HLY0801: March 13-26, 2008

The first BEST-BSIERP cruise of 2008 covered hundreds of miles through some of the most extensive pack ice seen in years.

Scientists braved late-winter winds and storms to collect oceanographic data, tag walrus, locate spectacled eiders, listen for whales, and more.
